![]() I've been making my own seamless tiling textures for years, even before I began learning 3D art. Because I still haven't learned to make texture maps that work in DAZ/Studio, I thought a good holiday gift to the 3D community would be a big collection of my tiles, which can be used for texturing by anybody, or even as desktop backgrounds. Please note that there are no MAT files included in this set. You must apply the tiles by plugging them in yourself, or use them to decorate templates. All of these textures are original creations by me, so you needn't be concerned about copyright violation. I guarantee that they are mine to give and to make terms and conditions for. So here are the terms and conditions: The only RESTRICTIONS on your use of these tiles are: 1) You may not SELL them in other COLLECTIONS of tiles, as tiles per se. This is because I don't think it's good business to sell to someone something they can get free elsewhere, and I don't wish to be a party to bad business policies. Now for the good news! You MAY use these tiles in any personal projects AND: 1) in commercial renders. I like to make things simple. Just don't sell my tiles without adding the above-described value of your own, don't give them away without this Readme, and don't pretend that you created something that you didn't create. That's it. I wish you happy holidays and the delight of creation! Cheerios! Tallulahdahling |
Luke is more interested in checking out the Nutcracker Soldier. He takes for granted that his sweater has a new pattern on it. Around this Runtime, that sort of change happens day in and day out, so lets just get on with the REAL presents, okay? ![]() ![]() These sets are meant for Poser 5 and up. I hope you enjoy these MAT files for COURAGEOUS for V4, which can be found at the DAZ 3D Store. These are sets 5 and 6 of the *Modern Courage* series I've been working on. But, as peculiarity would have it, I have not yet finished sets 1 through 4! Because 5 and 6 were most appropriate for the holidays, I decided to put them on the faster track. The MATs in this set are only for the COURAGEOUS tunic, boots, pouch, and belt. I'll be doing the pants later. I may get around to making sets for the other items in COURAGEOUS, but no promises. The idea of MODERN COURAGE is to give V4 some modest (except for the mini), everyday modern clothing, and knife holders, arm bracers, and baldric belts don't really fit that profile. The Modern Courage series consists of tiles that are applied by MAT files. The MATs allow you to mix and match parts from one item to another, such as putting the collar from set five on set 6 and vice versa, or removing the collar altogether. You can change the skirt from one set to the skirt from the other, or change the top, or shorten the sleeves, etc. In addition, there is a folder within the MODERN COURAGE folder titled "SOLO". This contains mat files to hide the top or hide the skirt. I put these in their own folder because I found that I repeatedly confused them with the MATs for changing textures on the tops and skirts, which was annoying. When you just want to make the red skirt green, but you make it disappear instead, it can make you say ugly words. But separating the "SOLO" files from the other MATS solves that! A disadvantage of using tiling textures instead of texture templates to design new looks is that you can't get as much fine detail in the design, with pretty embroidered edges and other trims that are not modelled into the mesh. However, an advantage to tiles is that it's easy to use them to make clothing and accessories from other sets match your MODERN COURAGE outfits. For example, even though I have not included MATs for the MC pants, If you want your pants to match, say, the red top, you can go to the Material room and then go to Textures:Tallu:V4 Modern Courage and plug the texture of your choice into the pants. Hooray! You have a match! You'd like to use Aery Soul's MyVest with the green mini? Tile MyVest up with the green tile, or use a boot tile on it. Whatevah! I think that's everything, but if you have any comments or questions, you'll find my contact details in the readme. I hope my little gift adds to the cheer and enjoyment of your holidays, whichever ones you celebrate. Here's to a happy and creative 2009! Tallulahdahling ![]() ![]() |
