Tallu's Seamless Tiling Texture Freebies

I've begun a seamless tile project.

I have several categories for which I've been creating hand-drawn tiles:

  • Tallu Goes Dotty!
  • Baby Prints
  • Butterfly Fantasies
  • Harlequin Prints
  • Kitties
  • Plaids
  • Tallu Stripes It Up!
  • Playtime Tiles
  • From Tallu With Love
  • Tallu's Florabundance

Each of these categories will have several sets, each set made up of variations on one pattern. For example, "Florabundance" so far has 12 sets in the works, such as "Flower Wheels", "Multiflower Darlings", Preschool Flowers", "FloraDahling" "Botanical Mix" and "Hydrangea Blend".

I will release these sets one or a few at a time.

The first set is now ready:

"TALLU's FLORABUNDANCE: Daisy DEAREST"

There are soooooo many tiles in this one set that it gets two .zip files!
(That's right. Not one. Not 1.5. Not even 1.8173. No! 2 X 1 = Two!!)

Now, on with the show!

All of the dresses in this picture have been tiled directly in Poser, using no texture templates.

Would you believe these "fabric prints" are all originated from the same starting tile?  Irene, in the pink and blue gown (Jan19's Cho's Crinolines_long sleeves freebie) wonders how I do it, but that's because she doesn't know how to work a 2D art program, or ANY computer program, for that matter.  She just lives in them, she doesn't understand them.

The lace on the apron was made with one of the greyscale tiles from Part 2, used as both a bump and a trans map.

She's holding one of the more subtle tiles, for those times when you just want a hint of pattern.

Beth, in the teal/multicolored gown (also one of Jan19's freebies) seems to have the hiccoughs, but she'll "hic!" in Victorian elegance.

Amy would rather roller skate in her Louisiana Dress from DAZ 3D than lug around beautiful crinoline skirts.  Her bolder personality demands bigger prints, but that's no problem when you're plugging tiles into the material room.

Irene wanted to show off her favorite fabric on DAZ's Victorian Era gown. She really ought to have a petticoat underneath that very sheer lace on her skirt, though.  Doesn't she know how racy that is?

Tabitha models Jan19's Belle Epoch gown to show that Part 2 of Daisy Dearest has black-and-white and greyscale tiles.  Here she demonstrates that these kind of tiles are very useful as trans and bump maps, as well as straight fabric textures.  The red in the background is a black and white tile colored red in the material room.

Here's that Belle Epoch Dress again, but this time showing the Daisy Dearest tiles after they've been added to Belle Epoch's texture template (the striped pattern is not included in "Daisy Dearest). (This template texture is, as I type this, still a work in progress and will be made available separately.)  You can tell this is a template texture because Belle Epoch's sleeves don't have a separate material zone from the main dress.

This is what happens when you hand over your Bird of Paradise Dress (a delightful freebie by Jan19) to your enthusiastic virtual dress texturer with a large package of textures and say: "Do whatevah!".  Annaliese doesn't look thrilled.

Finally, even when one can't afford to re-upholster, re-wallpaper, and re-rug one's real home, you can do up your virtual homes over and over again - all in one day, if you like - with these free tiling textures.

I hope you enjoy playing with these tiles so much that you'll be looking forward to the rest to come!

Have a lotta fun!
